What does car-accident compensation cover in Cyprus?

Compensation has two parts. General damages cover non-financial harm — pain, suffering and loss of amenity — and are assessed by the court case by case, as there is no fixed tariff. Special damages cover quantifiable losses: medical and rehabilitation costs, lost earnings, care needs and damage to property. Claims arise under the Civil Wrongs Law, Cap. 148, against the party at fault.
