The Pink Slip applies to non-EU nationals. If you are an EU, EEA, or Swiss citizen, you register your residence with a Yellow Slip (MEU1) instead.
Starting from January 1, 2023, the Cyprus government has implemented various modifications to the policies governing temporary residence permits. These changes encompass revised financial criteria and adjusted health and character requirements. Prospective holders of initial temporary residence permits are now obligated to present evidence of ample financial resources, demonstrating a minimum monthly income of EUR 2,000.
Additionally, a supplementary 20% income for spouses and 15% for each accompanying child is now required. Income originating within Cyprus, such as dividends from a local company or rental income, may be included in the application to substantiate the minimum income requirement.
Furthermore, applicants are now required to transfer and provide proof of at least EUR 10,000 to their personal bank account in Cyprus.
Effective from May 1, 2023, individuals renewing existing temporary residence permits must furnish their banking history from the preceding 12 months, showcasing a minimum of EUR 24,000 in foreign remittances.
A current bank statement with a balance of at least EUR 6,000 is also mandatory for renewal applications. Notably, applications submitted before May 1, 2023, will be evaluated based on the prevailing policy for renewal applications.
